Co-founder, Yuliana Nelson, Ph.D.

I am so proud to feature my friend, Dr. Yuliana Nelson. 🤩

Dr. Yuliana Nelson is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in both California and Nevada. She brings a wealth of experience in treating diverse populations, with a particular specialization in working with children, adolescents, and their families. Her clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, with a strong emphasis on the integration of psychological science, comprehensive psychological assessment and compassionate care.

Dr. Nelson focuses her work on addressing a broad range of concerns including mood and anxiety disorders, sleep disturbances, and the psychological impact of chronic medical conditions. Her expertise also extends to the development and implementation of innovative models for integrating mental health services into primary care and pediatric settings, helping to ensure that behavioral health support is accessible and effective in everyday healthcare environments.

A key area of Dr. Nelson’s professional interest lies in understanding the cultural and community-based factors that foster resilience in the face of trauma and life adversity. Throughout her career, she has been deeply involved in initiatives aimed at the early identification and treatment of mental health disorders among individuals from high-risk or underserved populations. She is passionate about improving access to culturally competent mental health care and reducing systemic barriers to treatment.

Dr. Nelson received her training at several of the nation's leading institutions, including Stanford University, the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and Children’s Hospital Colorado. She later served as clinical faculty at UC San Diego Health, where she provided care, taught, and mentored psychology trainees, psychiatry residents, and early-career clinicians. Her commitment to training the next generation of mental health professionals continues through her ongoing supervision and mentorship of students and developing clinicians.

Dr. Nelson is dedicated to helping individuals and families build insight, develop resilience, and thrive. Her practice reflects a deep commitment to clinical excellence, cultural humility, and the ongoing pursuit of innovation in mental health care.

In her spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys cooking, spending time in nature, being with family, and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures. She is the co-founder of MndLnq, a mental health staffing and consulting firm dedicated to helping mental health professionals connect with top talent and grow their practices.
